CSR risks: implementing ESP 2008-2010**

Each of the objectives of the very first ESP Plan still apply today: integration of a sustainable development clause in all new contracts, signing of professional and personal compliance rules governing purchasing and CSR-specific training for all newcomers to the Purchasing Department.
From 2008-2010, the Purchasing Department intends to reinforce its global risk management (purchasers, prescribers, purchasers) via the :
  • Identification and qualification of CSR risk, primarily on "high-risk" categories,
  • Implementation of measures to limit/reduce these risks in collaboration with the different parties involved in the value chain (prescribers, purchasers, suppliers, users) and integration of CSR criteria at an early stage (purchasing strategies and technical specifications)*.
Highlights in 2009 :
In 2009, Société Générale defined 49 high-risk CSR categories and implemented a number of actions, including :
  • Part of the recycling of electronic waste was entrusted to 8 protected or adapted sector companies,
  • The proportion of CSR products in its catalogue of advertising materials was increased from 6 to 16%,
  • Measures to reduce printing in the new tower which opened in January 2009 : increased number of users per printer, printers set to double-sided and draft print-outs by default, etc.
  • Carfleet contribution : introduction of environmental criteria in the selection of cars (CO2 emissions).
