Retail banking in France

A core priority for any retail banking network is to establish longstanding relations with its customers, be they individuals, businesses, local authorities, etc. Achieving this means constantly improving the quality of our services, respect for all our customers however large or small and, more generally, cementing our reputation as a responsible company that proactively contributes to the country's economic growth.
The strong development of the French economy will always be one of our primary concerns at Société Générale. In 2009, the bank played an active part in the government plan aimed at encouraging increased lending to businesses and individuals. Société Générale has always upheld each of the legal and regulatory obligations that apply to its profession: transparency when it comes to loans and savings, a formal framework for day-to-day banking relations and the rights of the disabled community. It is also committed to initiatives that serve the public interest. In France, for example, its support for various charities and associations has earned it a market share of over 10%.
