The last revision of Vigeo’s non-financial rating for Société Générale reflects the solidity of the Group’s CSR policy, with the agency rating Société Générale amongst the leaders in its sector in terms of its employee, customer and supplier relations.
In August 2008, GMI (Governance Metrics International ) assigned Société Générale a rating of 2.5 (compared with an average of 4.4 for companies in France)
At the end of 2008, OEKOM Research assigned an overall grade ‘C’ to Société Générale Group "C" (social and cultural rating of "C", and environmental rating of "C-"), on a scale of D- to A+. This result classifies Société Générale as PRIME according to the former’s rating methodology. Consequently Société Generale’s tradeable bonds and share qualify for ecologically and socially based investment.
At the start of February 2008, Innovest rated Société Générale Group "A" on a scale of CCC to AAA.
The Thomson Reuters Extel 2009 pan-European survey named Société Générale Corporate & Investment Banking for the quality of its Cross Asset research: institutional investors rated the bank 1st in the field of socially-responsible investment.
The Capitalcom - RiskMetrics 2009 ranking lists Société Générale top out of the CAC 40's leading companies for diversity, as much in terms of the quality of its data as in its practices.
