VISION AND CHALLENGES

Société Générale's CSR policy consists in putting these commitments into practice and continually looking for ways to progress.

Vision and challenges

Société Générale's aim is to become a benchmark reference in Corporate Social Responsibility, thus affording it a major competitive edge.
The challenge is to concretely integrate the notion of CSR into the strategies of its different businesses in order to create value for the Group and its stakeholders. If it is to succeed, it will need to draw upon its strong values and foundations in mastering the environmental and social risks that go hand-in-hand with its activities.
Trust is fundamental to the banking profession, it is the pledge that the interests of all stakeholders will be served and Société Générale is fully aware of its responsibilities.
In fact, its corporate social responsibility is as clear within the Group through the dynamic management of its staff, as it is outside of the Group through its determination to control and minimise the direct impact of its activities on the environment.
Already a component stock of the world's main sustainable development indexes (FTSE4Good, ASPI, Ethibel, etc.), Société Générale is also included in most French socially responsible investment funds. Today, it remains resolutely committed to maintaining and improving its CSR performance.
