CSR risks: implementing ESP 2008-2010**

From 2008-2010, the Purchasing Department intends to reinforce its global risk management (purchasers, prescribers, purchasers) via the:
  • Identification and qualification of CSR risk, primarily on "risk" categories
  • Implementation of measures to limit/reduce these risks in collaboration with the different parties involved in the value chain (prescribers, purchasers, suppliers, users) and integration of CSR criteria at an early stage in purchasing strategies and technical specifications *

Highlights

By December 31, 2008, the qualification of risks in 30 out of 49 CSR risk categories had been completed during the year. Moreover, a certain number of action plans are already underway:
  • Launch of a study into a "green" bank branch in collaboration with the Group's International Retail Banking division
  • As part of the Group consumption policy, 50% reduction in the number of printers following the smaller number of printers installed in the Granite Tower
  • Launch of a study into the mobile phone operators used by the Group in order to select the handset that most respects the environment (packaging, composition of casing, consumption of electricity) and that emits the lowest level of electromagnetic radiation
