Sponsorships, partnerships and civil society
Société Générale Group focuses its sponsorship on a number of priority areas and specific programmes. In doing so, it avoids its resources being too sparsely scattered and can make sure that its initiatives are genuinely effective in both the medium and long term:- Charity: integration, notably via education and projects to help young people get their careers off the ground that vary according to country and economic and social context
- Culture: classical music (since 1987) and contemporary art (since 1995)
- Sport: rugby (since 1987), golf (since 2001) and handisport (since 2003)
Despite a difficult economic backdrop in 2008, Société Générale remained steadfastly committed to its sponsorship programmes in 2008. The Group's priorities for 2009 are to cement and strengthen links that it has forged with its partners, with the emphasis on making culture and sports more accessible - particularly for young people - and on providing young people with the tools they need to better integrate society and the professional world.* Environmental sponsorship will also be better structured and developed. ------------------------------------
